The Beater is the signature model of yo-yo legend Steve Brown. For those of you who don’t know Steve Brown is the most important person active in yo-yo today; he’s a legend. Winner of multiple yo-yo titles, famed for performing a yoyo routine blindfolded (and winning!) and performing in a tutu (and winning, again!), creator of 5A Yoyo, he was in the films Zoolander and The Lone Ranger, and Steve is a partner and co-owner of Caribou Lodge Yo-yo Works!
For a number of years, Steve declined to have a signature model on his own company, for reasons, which are still murky at best.
We should all be grateful that he finally relented, because the Beater is absolute perfection, it’s one of the most graceful and elegant yo-yos I’ve had the opportunity to play. The Beater is a solid organic shaped yo-yo with the CLYW double rim, and a schmove groove, made from 7075 aluminium, the Beater is designed to take a hit, and play like a charm. The double rim also serves as a lip to the inner cup, making IRGs a cinch. The Beater is also great for 5A freehand style play, and each Beater comes with a CLYW Log counterweight.

Wet Confetti colorway is our normal Confetti colorway with with some slight anodizing flaws on the larger red splashes of color. Instead of making these Fool's Gold we've decided to offer them to you at a discounted price so that you can reap the benefit of our slight anodizing mistake. Personally I think it looks pretty cool, but it’s not exactly Confetti!
